Its purpose is as follows: The purpose of this organization shall be to design, create, expand, operate, maintain and/or provide professional oversight of a network of continuously operating reference stations to provide rapid, reliable, real time geodetic control data and positioning corrections to a variety of field surveying, mapping, navigation, emergency response and geospatial services in the state of Colorado. All members of the PLSC are welcome to join the new Chapter, and membership is free this first year. If you are interested, please download a membership form and send it in to the address indicated on the form.
The Path to the Proper Summit of the Rockies Once in a lifetime, an opportunity may present itself to re-trace the footsteps of the original surveyors of a line so significant that it shaped the course of our country’s growth.Â
PLSCÂ Forum The PLSC Forum has the potential to be a powerful communications tool for the membership and visitors. The forum requires a one-time registration before making a post. After the one-time registration, you will use the user name and password that you specify to log in to the board and participate. Please stop by, register, and add your voice to the PLSCÂ Forum.
The 2006 PLSCÂ Fall Technical Program and Annual Meeting took place at the Colorado School of Mines Green Center November 30-December 2, 2006. Larry Connolly has provided several pictures from this event. Thank you, Larry!
History of Colorado Survey Laws A history of notable Colorado Survey Laws and unsuccessful bills has been compiled. Credit is given document to Dex Brinker and Doyle Abrahamson for research of this information. The same history is available in HTMLÂ format.
Mentoring Program The PLSC and several chapters are sponsoring a "mentoring" program as started by Gaby Neunzert. Pictures
from the Denver class that took place on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 can be seen here. For the May 3, 2006 McComber Mentoring Program session in Colorado Springs, Stan Vermilyea presented a talk on survey research. Stan took the accompanying course handout and created a 112 page, indexed, PDF file of it. Stan's PDF covers everything from obtaining topo maps to the names, addresses, phone numbers and web sites for all the Colorado county assessors, and clerk and recorders. Stan is kind enough to share his work with anyone that is interested.
